Do you read consumer reports on wrinkle creams?  I reckon most people usually do.  Personally, I base most of my buying decisions on them.

When you’re in the market for any product, whether it’s a wrinkle cream or a medication for skin rashes, reading unbiased reviews from real people who have used it is the best recommendation available.   In these consumer reports, wrinkle creams are tested in the real world, not in laboratories where samples and conditions can be tightly controlled.

If you want to know what to look for when studying consumer reports’ wrinkle cream reviews, here’s a few guidelines:

1. Look for consumers with the same type of skin as you

If you have a combination skin, your needs will be different from someone with an oily or dry face.  Naturally, what works for those skin types is less likely to work the same way for your wrinkles.  On  the other hand, when a consumer reports wrinkle creams that work for their combination skin, there is a good chance the same product will work on you.

2. Look for varied reviews

As sad as it may be, there are reviews online written by shills of the cosmetic companies.  Try to look for plenty of varied consumers reports on wrinkle creams before making your decision - the more you look at, the better the chances that you’ll come across more real testimonials.

3. Look for detailed reviews

Detailed reviews that list specific details of the different conditions that consumer faced will be very helpful when trying to find products for your use.  With thorough consumer reports, wrinkle creams and their full use will be greatly detailed, allowing you to compare better if it mirrors your situation.

Skin care natural products are all the rage these days.  Finally, people are learning to veer away from harsh treatments that can actually do more to harm and damage the skin.  Even those with oily skin, who at one time were subjected to the harshest chemicals imaginable, are moving towards the gentler and more soothing effects of skin care natural products.

Oily Skin

While the traditional treatment for oily skin has been has been harsh detergents and alcohol-based astringents, it has been proven that these products end up stripping away skin lipids, which only end up prodding the body to raise its oil production all the more.  Most dermatologists today pretty much agree that for oily skin care, natural products are the real solution.

Natural Skin Care Products For Oily Skin

If you’re going to treat your oily skin, look for products that contain no alcohols or mineral oils - those will leave you worse for wear.  Instead, opt for water-based and gentle skin care natural products.  Ingredients to look for include powerful antioxidants like green tea extract and white, calming oils like lavender and chamomile as well as oil-stripping natural components like oatmeal.

Harsh treatments are old news for oily skin.  When it comes to skin care, natural products rule the roost, whatever your skin type.

The medicinal properties of turmeric have long been known in Eastern cultural traditions, particularly in traditional Chinese medicine. Recently, however, turmeric has emerged as “one of nature’s most powerful potential healers.” Its medicinal benefits are numerous, according to Dr. David Frawely, Founder and Director of the American Institute for Vedic Studies in Santa Fe, New Mexico, who says: “If I had only one single herb to depend upon for all possible health and dietary needs, I would without much hesitation choose the Indian spice Turmeric. There is little it cannot do in the realm of healing and much that no other herb is able to accomplish.”

The pigment curcumin is responsible for more than simply giving turmeric its yellow-orange color. Curcumin can inhibit both the activity and the synthesis of several enzymes that have been implicated in inflammation, giving turmeric its potent anti-inflammatory properties. Curcumin has been shown to be effective against Alzheimer’s, which is caused in part by amyloid-induced inflammation. Clinical trials studying the effects of curcumin in fighting Alzheimer’s are underway at UCLA.
