With the multitude of skin cancer cases reported by the National Cancer Institute, sun damage to human skin could be reaching epidemic proportions. Reviva Skin Care Labs has stressed that a strong anti-oxidant cream formulated for absorption deeper than the sunscreen cream or lotion, and applied under the sunscreen, can offer an important extra level of protection against sun damage.
Sunscreens are important but they work only on the surface. Some degree of free-radical ultra-violet rays (particularly UV-A,the aging rays) often get through. A strong anti-oxidant cream could “zap” free radicals that get through the sunscreen.
Reviva Labs offers two such antioxidant creams formulated for deeper absorption.
- Ultra C Cream features a unique vitamin C component from cabbage juice (ascorbigen) in addition to standard vitamin C Ultra C’s usual usage is under make-up.
- Alpha Lipoic Acid, Vitamin C Ester & DMAE Cream firms skin as it fights future skin damage with three unique ingredients in a soy liposome for deep penetration and time-release action.

Most people, especially children, love to be out in the summer sun, but parents should remember that no tan is a good tan.
“Remember that if you form a tan, you will have ultraviolet radiation damage,” Dr. Alfred Lane, a pediatrician and researcher at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, said in a news release from the northern California facility. “Unfortunately, the body really doesn’t forget this damage. It accumulates from childhood through adolescence and adulthood, and this can lead to skin cancer.”
Lane, who is also a professor of dermatology and pediatrics at the Stanford University School of Medicine, offers tips to help protect young and old from sun damage:
- Always use a waterproof sunscreen with at least a 30 SPF (sun protection factor) — the higher, the better for protection from ultraviolet damage and skin cancer — before going outside in the daylight.
- Wear clothing with high SPF. Even then, don’t forget to put sunscreen on all exposed skin.
- The format of the sunscreen — stick, lotion or spray — doesn’t matter as long as it is used. However, to avoid getting sunscreen in the eyes and mouth, a stick might be best to use around those areas.
- Because sunscreens are not recommended for children younger than 6 months, dress infants in a hat, long sleeves and long pants and keep them in the shade whenever possible. Carefully applying a little sunscreen on their exposed face or hands should be fine.

In your later years, anti-wrinkle skin treatments are a mandatory proposition if you want to retain as much of your looks as possible. Your only other option is letting nature (and years upon years of damage) take its course - a path that isn’t likely to benefit you a single bit.
As you reach your 40s, all the years of sun damage begin to take its toll, in the form of blotches, red spots and flushing. Your skin will be eroding collagen, leaving it drier for longer periods. If you’ve ever needed anti wrinkle skin treatments, that time is now. Don’t even think twice about it.
Many in their 50s choose to retire from the skin care game, letting whatever happens just take its place. Truth is, though, no one’s ever too old to enjoy anti wrinkle skin treatments. Even in your 50s, you can stop the progression of any damage that’s already taken place.
The older you get, the slower skin cell turnover becomes, leaving your skin drier and losing elasticity. Every flaw - from lines to wrinkles - become all that more prominent.
For your anti-wrinkle skin treatment well into these more advanced years, always go for a creamy, foaming non-soap cleanser for washing your skin both day and night. Use moisturizers that contain heavy amounts of peptides and antioxidants, applying them while your skin is still damp. Before bed, use a nighttime moisturizer, preferably with prescription doses of retinoid, to work its wonders on your skin.

If your skin has a propensity to suffer from sun damage, the following checklist should be a must-have for you:
1. Clothes are your first level of sun damaged skin protection. Cover up your skin with appropriate clothing, such as long sleeves, pants and hats, when spending extended time under the sun. Make sure your clothing provides sufficient protection, though. A good test is to hold it to a light bulb - if you can see behind it, it’s not good enough.
2. If you’re going outdoors, apply a minimum SPF 30 sunscreen. The older you are, the higher the SPF you will need for effective sun damaged skin protection.
3. Avoid getting artificial tans - they can damage your skin just as much as the actual sun.
4. Stay out of the sun, if you can, between the hours of 10 AM to 4 PM.
5. Always carry an SPF 30 lotion every time you leave home. Bring two bottles when you go on vacation.
6. If you live in a sunny area, make sure to have your car windows tinted. UV radiation penetrates windows easily.
These six things should be the bare minimum of your sun damaged skin protection. Make sure to follow them, lest put your skin at risk.

Preventing sun damage is a crucial part of any complete skin care regimen. In anti wrinkle skin care, sun protection is the requisite first step, especially when you’re young. Prolonged sun exposure from a young age, after all, is the most frequent cause of premature aging, causing the early appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and age spots.
The Sun’s Rays
Sunlight consists of different components, including UVA, UVB and UVC. UVA is the ultraviolet light that affect skin color (tanning) but does not produce sunburn. For the purposes of anti wrinkle skin care, UVB is the main concern, as it’s the component of sunlight that is responsible for the eventual appearance of wrinkles, age spots and other skin problems.
Sun Protection Products
Use of sun-protection products for people at any age is of utmost importance in anti wrinkle skin care. Ignoring sun protection will leave your skin vulnerable to damage whose severity will depend on many factors, including genetics and actual degree of exposure.
To put it simply, using an SPF 30 lotion when you are 18 will do more to keep you young-looking in your 40s compared to any sort of skin nourishing creams you can apply during that time. Without a protective regiment as part of your anti wrinkle skin care, you can end up spending your late 20s and 30s already suffering through the results of premature aging.
